Description

This Pretzel Bones Recipe combines crunchy pretzel sticks with soft mini marshmallows, all coated in smooth white candy melting chocolate to create festive and fun edible bones, perfect for Halloween parties or themed snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 80 mini marshmallows
  • 40 pretzel sticks
  • 16 oz white candy melting chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and to make cleanup easier.
  2. Assemble the bones: Push a mini marshmallow onto each end of a pretzel stick to form the shape of a bone.
  3. Melt the white candy chips: Heat the white candy melting chips in the microwave for 45 seconds then stir. Continue heating in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  4. First dip: Using a fork, dip each assembled pretzel bone into the melted white chocolate, coating it completely. Shake off any excess chocolate and place the dipped bones on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Set the coating: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate coating to set.
  6. Trim excess chocolate: Optionally, use a sharp knife to carefully trim off any excess chocolate that ran off the bones to give a cleaner finish.
  7. Reheat chocolate: Heat the chocolate again in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir until smooth to prepare for the second coat.
  8. Second dip: Dip each bone into the melted chocolate again, shaking off excess, then return them to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Final set: Refrigerate the dipped bones for another 10 minutes to fully set the chocolate coating before serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  • The second chocolate coating helps create a thicker, sturdier shell and a polished look.
  • For quicker setting, place dipped pretzel bones in the freezer for 5 minutes instead of the refrigerator.
  • Be gentle when pushing marshmallows onto pretzel sticks to avoid breaking the pretzels.
  • If you don’t have white candy melting chips, white chocolate bars or almond bark can be substituted.
