Description
These No Bake Oreo Truffles are a simple and delicious treat made by combining crushed Oreo cookies with cream cheese, then dipping the formed balls in melted chocolate and decorating with sprinkles. Perfect for an easy dessert or party snack without any baking required.
Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Base
- 25 original Oreo cookies
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
Chocolate Coating
- 1/2 cup chopped white chocolate for dipping
- 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate for dipping
Decoration
- assorted sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Crush Oreos: Pulse the Oreos in a food processor until crushed into small crumbs.
- Mix Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the crushed Oreos and process until a shiny, big balled clump forms on one side of the bowl.
- Form Truffles: Use a medium cookie scoop to portion the mixture into 1-inch balls, then roll each between your palms to create smooth, even shapes. Place the truffles on parchment paper and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Prepare Chocolate: Place each type of chocolate (white and dark) in separate microwaveable bowls. Microwave in 30 second intervals until nearly melted, stopping when a few small pieces remain to avoid burning. Stir to fully melt residual pieces.
- Dip Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the desired melted chocolate, then place back onto parchment paper. Decorate with sprinkles or extra drizzles of chocolate if desired.
- Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate to harden by either setting at room temperature for about 30 minutes, refrigerating for 10 minutes, or freezing for 3 minutes before enjoying.
Notes
- Use regular Oreos, not Double Stuf, as Double Stuf has too much filling for this recipe. Brands like Back to Nature, Newman-O’s, or Famous Amos Oreos also work well.
- You can choose any chocolate for dipping: white, milk, ruby, or dark. Use sweeter chocolates like white or ruby for sweeter truffles and dark chocolate for less sweet desserts.
- Store leftover truffles in a single layer on wax or parchment paper in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Freeze truffles in an airtight container for up to two months.
