Description

Delightfully festive Grinch Oreo Balls made with Red Velvet Oreos, cream cheese, and green candy melts, decorated with red heart sprinkles for a perfect holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package (22 cookies) Red Velvet Oreos
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 7 oz green candy melts
  • Red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the dough: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until fine crumbs form. Add the cream cheese and mix again until a soft dough forms.
  3. Form Oreo balls: Using a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon, scoop out the dough and roll it between the palms of your hands into balls. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used. Chill the balls in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  4. Melt candy coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts in 30-second increments, stirring between each session. If the candy melts are too thick for dipping, add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil or any unflavored oil and mix thoroughly.
  5. Coat the Oreo balls: Using a chocolate dipping fork, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted candy coating, ensuring an even layer. Place them back onto the baking sheet. Repeat for all balls.
  6. Decorate: Transfer leftover candy melts to a piping bag and drizzle over the coated truffles. Immediately add red heart sprinkles on top to create the iconic Grinch heart design.
  7. Set and serve: Allow the coated truffles to set in the fridge for a few minutes before enjoying.

Notes

  • Use a food processor to achieve a fine Oreo crumb for smooth dough consistency.
  • Chilling in the freezer helps the balls hold their shape during dipping.
  • If candy melts are too thick, adding a bit of coconut or vegetable oil thins them for easier coating.
  • Red heart sprinkles add a festive touch but can be substituted with any small decorative sprinkles.
  • Store finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
