Description

A tangy and refreshing Dill Pickle Margarita featuring silver tequila, dill pickle juice, and a Tajín seasoning rim. This unique cocktail combines savory pickle flavors with classic margarita ingredients for a bold and delicious twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Glass Rim & Garnish

  • 1 (25 g) pickle spear
  • 2 tsps. (6 g) Tajín seasoning
  • 1½ cups (180 g) ice for the glass

Cocktail

  • 2 oz. (60 ml) silver tequila
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) dill pickle juice/brine
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) triple sec
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml) simple syrup
  • 1½ cups (180 g) ice for the shaker

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: Rub the pickle spear along half of the rim of your glass to moisten it, then dip the moistened edge into Tajín seasoning on a small plate to coat thoroughly.
  2. Fill Glass with Ice and Garnish: Fill the prepared glass with ice and place the pickle spear inside the glass as garnish.
  3. Mix the Drink: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add silver tequila, dill pickle juice, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
  4. Shake: Cover the shaker and shake vigorously until the mixture is well chilled.
  5. Strain and Serve: Strain the margarita into the prepared glass over the ice and garnish with the pickle spear.

Notes

  • Homemade Simple Syrup – Combine 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar and 1 cup (240 ml) water in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then cool. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.
  • Make-Ahead Tip – Pre-squeeze the lime juice and prepare simple syrup ahead of time for convenience.
  • Shake Fresh – Do not pre-mix the cocktail; shake each drink fresh to keep it cold and undiluted.
  • Tajín Substitute – If you don’t have Tajín, use kosher salt or a chili-salt combination as an alternative for the rim seasoning.
