Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 2 cup graham cracker crushed
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 14 tbsp unsalted butter melted
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
Topping
- 3 cup coconut flakes
- 2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 24 oz condensed milk
- 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Crush graham crackers using a food processor or blender until finely ground. In a large bowl, combine crushed graham crackers, flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar. Add melted unsalted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until you achieve a soft, crumbly mixture.
- Bake the crust: Line a baking sheet (11×16 inches) with parchment paper. Spread the crumbly dough evenly in a thin layer on the lined baking sheet, pressing down firmly with your hands to compact. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Prepare the topping: In a mixing bowl, combine coconut flakes, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts. Drizzle condensed milk over the mixture and stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
- Assemble and bake the bars: Spread the coconut-chocolate-nut mixture evenly over the pre-baked graham cracker crust. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes at 350 °F until the topping is set and golden around the edges.
- Cool and serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the bars to cool to room temperature on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into 40 bars of preferred size and serve.
Notes
- Make sure to press the crust firmly to prevent it from crumbling after baking.
- Use sweetened or unsweetened coconut flakes according to preference, but adjust sugar if using unsweetened.
- For a nut-free version, omit walnuts or substitute with additional chocolate chips or seeds.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate to extend freshness.
- Using parchment paper on the baking sheet makes removing bars easier and cleaner.
