Description

Delicious Magic Coconut Bars featuring a crunchy graham cracker crust, a rich coconut-chocolate-walnut topping, and a sweet condensed milk drizzle, baked to perfection for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 cup graham cracker crushed
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 14 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Topping

  • 3 cup coconut flakes
  • 2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 24 oz condensed milk
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Crush graham crackers using a food processor or blender until finely ground. In a large bowl, combine crushed graham crackers, flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar. Add melted unsalted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until you achieve a soft, crumbly mixture.
  2. Bake the crust: Line a baking sheet (11×16 inches) with parchment paper. Spread the crumbly dough evenly in a thin layer on the lined baking sheet, pressing down firmly with your hands to compact. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  3. Prepare the topping: In a mixing bowl, combine coconut flakes, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts. Drizzle condensed milk over the mixture and stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Assemble and bake the bars: Spread the coconut-chocolate-nut mixture evenly over the pre-baked graham cracker crust. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes at 350 °F until the topping is set and golden around the edges.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the bars to cool to room temperature on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into 40 bars of preferred size and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to press the crust firmly to prevent it from crumbling after baking.
  • Use sweetened or unsweetened coconut flakes according to preference, but adjust sugar if using unsweetened.
  • For a nut-free version, omit walnuts or substitute with additional chocolate chips or seeds.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate to extend freshness.
  • Using parchment paper on the baking sheet makes removing bars easier and cleaner.
