Description

These Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Wonton Bites are irresistibly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Filled with a smooth mixture of cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and strawberry jam, then fried to golden perfection. Perfect as a delightful appetizer or dessert served warm with whipped cream, extra strawberry jam, and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • Fresh strawberries, diced (optional)

Wontons

  • 2024 wonton wrappers
  • Water, for sealing the edges
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For Serving

  • Whipped cream
  • Extra strawberry jam or sauce
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Make the filling: In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth and creamy. Add a small dollop of strawberry jam to each filling portion or mix diced strawberries into the filling for added texture and flavor.
  2. Prepare the wontons: Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling into the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it over the filling to form a triangle or envelope shape. Press firmly to seal and remove any air bubbles around the filling.
  3. Repeat: Continue filling and sealing the remaining wonton wrappers with the cheesecake mixture.
  4. Heat oil: In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry wontons: Fry the stuffed wontons in batches for about 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking.
  6. Drain: Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve: Serve warm with whipped cream, extra strawberry jam or sauce for dipping, and fresh sliced strawberries on the side.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the wontons to prevent bursting while frying.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the filling by varying the amount of powdered sugar.
  • These stuffed wonton bites can be made ahead and frozen; fry them directly from frozen before serving.
