Ingredients
Scale
Cake Layer
- 600 g chocolate cake (2 store-bought loaf cakes, crumbled)
Pudding Layer
- 3 boxes (113 g each) chocolate instant pudding mix
Whipped Cream
- ½ litre whipping cream
Decorations
- 12 ghost Peeps candies (6 per box)
- ½ teaspoon green food coloring
- Candy bloody bones for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Cake Base: Break up the chocolate cake into small crumbs and add a layer of the crumbled cake to the bottom of each dessert cup.
- First Pudding Layer: Prepare chocolate instant pudding according to package instructions and add a layer on top of the cake crumbs in each cup.
- Second Cake Layer: Add another layer of crumbled chocolate cake over the pudding layer in each cup.
- Final Pudding Layer: Add a final chocolate pudding layer over the second cake layer in each cup.
- Add Whipped Cream: Whip the cream until stiff peaks form, then add a small dollop of whipped cream on top of the pudding in each cup.
- Decorate Ghosts: Use an edible marker to color the eyes and mouth on the ghost Peeps candies carefully over the existing eyes and nose.
- Assemble Final Decoration: Place one ghost Peep in the center of each cup. Sprinkle a little more crumbled cake on top to resemble ‘dirt’ and garnish with candy bloody bones for a spooky effect.
- Repeat: Repeat the layering and decorating steps for all 12 dessert cups.
Notes
- Use store-bought chocolate cake to save time or bake your own if preferred.
- Chilling the pudding before layering will help set the texture better in the cups.
- Use an edible marker designed for food to decorate the Peeps safely.
- The green food coloring can be mixed into whipped cream if you want a colored topping instead of plain white.
- For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract to the whipped cream before whipping.
