Ingredients
Scale
Cinnamon Sugar Rim
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 lime wedges
Margarita Ingredients
- ¾ cup apple cider (6 ounces)
- 3 ounces tequila
- 2 Tablespoons apple butter
- 1 Tablespoon agave syrup (optional for sweetness)
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- 1-2 cups ice for cocktail shaking and serving
Optional Garnishes
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- apple slices
Instructions
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Rim: Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl. Use a lime wedge to moisten the rims of the cocktail glasses. Dunk the glass rims into the cinnamon sugar mixture and swirl until coated. Set aside for at least 2 minutes to allow the rim to harden.
- Make the Margaritas: Combine apple cider, tequila, apple butter, agave syrup if using, and Cointreau in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice to the top, secure the lid, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted. Strain the cocktail evenly into the prepared glasses.
- Serve: Garnish each cocktail with a cinnamon stick and apple slices if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious flavors.
Notes
- For a sweeter cocktail, add the optional agave syrup.
- Use orange or lemon wedges as alternatives to lime for moistening the glass rim.
- Margaritas are best served fresh and do not rehearse well.
- Ensure the cinnamon sugar rim has time to harden to avoid it dissolving quickly in the drink.
