Description

Delicious and flaky Air Fryer Croissants filled with rich Nutella and chocolate chips, perfectly golden and ready in just 13 minutes. A quick and easy treat ideal for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Croissants

  • 1 12-ounce can Pillsbury big and flaky crescent rolls
  • 5 tbsp Nutella (approximately 2 tsp per croissant)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (approximately 1/2 tbsp per croissant)

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water or 2% milk

Optional Garnishes

  • melted chocolate chips
  • honey
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Separate the crescent rolls and lay them flat on a clean surface to prepare for filling.
  2. Add Nutella: Spread about 2 teaspoons of Nutella evenly over the entire top surface of each flat croissant dough.
  3. Add chocolate chips: Place ½ tablespoon of chocolate chips at the large end of each croissant.
  4. Roll croissants: Starting from the large end, carefully roll each croissant towards the smaller end, sealing the edges as you go.
  5. Make egg wash: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water or 2% milk until fully combined.
  6. Brush egg wash: Generously brush the uncooked croissants with the egg wash to give them a shiny, golden finish when cooked.
  7. Prepare air fryer basket: Spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  8. Air fry croissants: Place croissants in a single layer in the basket, allowing some space for spreading. Air fry at 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes or until croissants are golden brown.
  9. Add optional garnishes: After cooking, lightly drizzle warm honey, melted chocolate chips, and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Use cooking spray on the air fryer basket to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
  • The egg wash is essential for achieving a golden, shiny crust—do not skip it.
  • Adjust the amount of Nutella and chocolate chips according to preference.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, these croissants can be baked in an oven at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.
  • Allow space between croissants in the air fryer to prevent them from sticking together as they expand.
  • Optional garnishes enhance appearance and flavor but can be omitted for a simpler treat.
