Cookie Dough
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt Butter and Mix Sugars: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 10-20 seconds until it just starts to melt. Add the brown sugar and white sugar and beat until fully combined and smooth.
- Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract and continue beating for another 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Stir in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and semi-sweet chocolate chips until the dough is fully combined and uniform.
- Chill Dough (Optional): Place the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to overnight to firm up for easier handling and better texture in the final cookies.
- Prepare Air Fryer: Line the air fryer racks or basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Preheat the air fryer to 325 degrees Fahrenheit if your model requires preheating.
- Shape and Air Fry: Scoop 2-tablespoon dough balls and place them in the air fryer basket, spacing them about 1.5 inches apart. Depending on your air fryer size, fit 2 to 4 cookies at a time.
- Cook Cookies: Air fry the cookies at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool Cookies: Allow the cookies to rest for 2-3 minutes in the air fryer before carefully removing them to a cooling rack to finish setting.
Notes
- Chilling the dough is optional but helps achieve thicker, chewier cookies.
- If your air fryer doesn’t have racks, place the parchment paper carefully in the basket before adding dough scoops.
- Space cookies adequately to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
- For crispier edges, cook an additional 1-2 minutes but watch them closely to avoid burning.
- Allow cookies to cool slightly before handling as they are soft out of the air fryer.
